KERN COUNTY, Calif. – The National Weather Service has issued an Advisory for rainfall and potential flooding in the San Joaquin Valley and surrounding mountain regions Monday, October 13 through Tuesday, October 14. Moderate rainfall is forecast in the mountain regions. Travel may be impacted during this period—please check your route before leaving and use extra caution while driving.

Zones currently under Advisory Status: 736, 737-A, 738

Advisory Status

Forecasted storms could bring heavy rain and possible flooding. Stay alert and be prepared to act, even without official warnings. While most water is expected to remain in channels, but roads, bridges, and property could experience moderate impacts from mud or debris. Floodwater can rise quickly—do not walk or drive through flooded areas. The Kern County Fire Department remains on alert ready to respond. Call 911 for emergencies.

We encourage residents to “Know Your Zone” by visiting protect.genasys.com and signing up for notifications in case an elevated evacuation status becomes necessary—particularly in areas recently affected by wildfires, which are more vulnerable to mudslides and debris flows.
