Cause: Under Investigation, electrical malfunction cannot be ruled out.


3700 blk, L Street, Bakersfield, CA -  Kern County Fire Department received multiple calls for a developing structure fire producing a large column of black smoke in the 3000 block of L street. Fire crews were faced with fire at the rear of the structure and car port. As fire began to spread to the adjacent structure, crews made an aggressive attack to protect the home. Damage was limited to personal property only.

Fire was contained to the rear of the main structure. Evacuations: 2 homes evacuated with a total of 10 residents Road Closures: L street at 38th street

Additional Information: 4 residents were at home at the time of the fire and were alerted by neighbors and evacuated safely. Kern County Fire Department would like to remind all residents to install working smoke alarms.
