Lost Hills, CA

At approximately 10:39 p.m. the Kern County Fire Department Emergency Communications Center received reports of a fire at a large commercial/processing building, owned and operated by Wonderful Company. While responding fire crews could see a large column of smoke from a distance and requested additional support. Upon arrival firefighters found a building approximately 15,000 square feet in size with large amounts of pressurized smoke exhausting from it. It was at this time that a “third alarm” was dispatched for additional equipment and personnel. Firefighters worked to quickly find the location of the fire within the building and contain it to a large commercial almond roaster. Wonderful Company employees were able to quickly and safely evacuate the effected areas by following their pre-planned and practiced evacuation training. There were no injuries to Wonderful Company employees or firefighters reported.
