Wednesday, Kern County firefighters were dispatched to a reported vehicle fire. Upon arrival, firefighters found a passenger vehicle fully involved with fire, near a residence. After further investigation, it was apparent the fire had spread into the home. Firefighters made an aggressive attack on the fire and conducted a search for any possible victims inside the residence. The residence was all clear, as police officers from the Ridgecrest Police Department had notified occupants of the home to evacuate prior to firefighters arriving. Firefighters declared a knockdown of the fire approximately 30 minutes after arrival. One person, the driver of the passenger vehicle, was transported via ground ambulance for non life-threatening injuries.
