Thursday morning, the Kern County Emergency Communications Center received reports of a shed or barn on fire. Firefighters arrived to find a large storage building fully involved with fire. The building that had formerly been used to store potatoes was no longer in use. Additional hazards for firefighters on scene included downed power lines as the fire had spread to a nearby power pole. Firefighters declared a knockdown of the fire approximately 40 minutes after arriving on scene. A search of the building found no one inside.
