Incident Narrative

FRAZIER PARK, Calif. | On Thursday, July 10, 2025, the Kern County Fire Department responded to multiple reports of a structure fire on the 400 block of Pico Trail. Upon arrival, units encountered a fully involved structure fire that was spreading to vegetation on the hillside. The response was upgraded to include a full wildland response in addition to the engines assigned to the structure fire.

Incident command strategically positioned engines to protect threatened structures while units simultaneously engaged the fire on all sides. Helicopter 409 was requested to launch due to the structure threat and, once on scene, began making water drops to assist crews on the ground. As the fire advanced up the hillside, resources from the Kern County Fire Department, Los Angeles County Fire Department, and the U.S. Forest Service successfully held the flames at the road just above the involved structure, halting further progression. Units will remain on scene through the evening to fully extinguish the structure fire and remaining embers along the hillside. No injuries reported. The cause is under investigation.
