Incident Narrative
Saturday, just after 7:00 pm, the Emergency Communications Center received reports of an apartment on fire in a rural area of Mojave. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a two story multi-unit apartment building with smoke and flames coming from the second floor. Firefighters made an aggressive attack on the fire on the second floor while others crews assisted with evacuations of the first floor. Crews contained the fire quickly and only two units sustained damage. Smoke detectors activated and all occupants of the apartment building escaped without injury; however, one cat perished as a result of the fire.
