Incident Narrative

Bakersfield, CA., Saturday afternoon, at approximately 1:55 P.M., the Kern County Fire Department was dispatched to a 40’ X 60’ shop on fire. Upon arrival firefighters encountered the shop which was fully engulfed with flames, as well as a pine tree directly behind the structure. There were two houses to the south and south west that were immediately threatened by the fire. Firefighters utilized two hand lines to make an aggressive stop to the spread of the fire while also protecting the two structures. The fire was knocked down with in 25 minutes of the first arriving engine. There were no injuries involved in this incident.
