MOJAVE, Calif., At approximately 3:26 a.m. on March 22, 2026, Kern County Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 8900 block of Lone Butte Road.

Upon arrival, Engine 15 found three travel trailers fully involved, with a small church and additional trailers nearby posing additional risk. Firefighters quickly deployed multiple hose lines to contain the fire, protect adjacent structures, and confirm that no occupants were inside the involved trailers.

Fire operations were challenged by a limited water supply, as the nearest hydrant was approximately three miles away. About 10 minutes into the incident, downed power lines created additional hazards and further complicated suppression efforts.

Despite these challenges, firefighters utilized coordinated and strategic fireground operations to extinguish the fire and successfully protect the nearby church.
