CALIFORNIA CITY, Calif., Saturday, Kern County firefighters were dispatched to a wreck involving off-road vehicles. Once on scene they discovered two UTVs had collided, head-on. The incident location was a rural dirt road south of Jawbone Canyon Rd in Eastern Kern County.

Firefighters worked to extricate and assess both patients, one in each UTV, while the Battalion Chief identified an air-ambulance landing zone. The most critical patient was successfully extricated and prepared for transport via Mercy Air 14. The second, less critical patient, was treated and prepared for transportation via ground ambulance.
