Incident Narrative

Kern County Fire Helicopter 407 was utilized on the Mosquito fire Tuesday, to medevac a patient suffering from a medical emergency from a helispot to a secure landing zone. H407 transferred patient care to an awaiting air ambulance for transport to the nearest medical facility. H407 has been deployed on Hoist Rescue Standby since Aug. 3rd providing rescue standby services on the Yeti, Mckinney, KNF Support, SRF Lightning and Mosquito incidents. Having a night vision goggle, advanced life support and hoist capable helicopter is an invaluable tool for firefighter and civilian rescue on large wildfire incidents.
