RIDGECREST, Calif., On the morning of June 1, Kern County firefighters in the Ridgecrest area were dispatched to a report of a structure fire in the 1500 block of North Guam. Upon arrival, firefighters found a single family residence, approximate 1500 square foot in size, with heavy smoke and fire coming from the front of the residence. The first Engine Captain on scene immediately identified and spoke with the occupants of the home while other firefighters pulled hoselines to the front door for an aggressive interior fire attack. All occupants were confirmed to be out of the home and uninjured. The fire was knocked down in less than 10 minutes. Additional Engine Companies were brought in to the incident to assist with salvage and overhaul.
