Incident Narrative

On 8/31/21 Kern County Fire Fighters responded to a working commercial fire in the 1800 block of Cecil Ave. in Delano, CA. On the arrival of crews, they found light smoke showing from a commercial strip mall and water flowing from sprinklers. Within minutes, crews were able to obtain an all clear of the structure and extinguish the fire being contained by multiple sprinkler heads that had activated as a result of the fire. This fire was brought under control is approximately 10 minutes. The damage would have been far more devastating had fire sprinklers not been in place and activated along with the quick actions of your Firefighters. 

One person was treated and released at the scene for possible smoke inhalation.

Save was approximately 1.5 million in property and contents.
