Incident Narrative

Taft, CA., Tuesday at approximately 4:59 A.M., The Kern County Fire Department responded to a reinforced structure fire in the 300 block of Asher Ave. Crews arrived on scene and found a detached garage fully involved with fire. There was one structure to the south that was immediately threatened. Eves from the roof of the exposure were starting to catch on fire. Crews pulled to hose lines and started knocking down the flames. Crews were able to keep the fire from spreading to the inside of the exposure. CHP responded to assist with a temporary road closure. The detached garage was a total loss. The fire was under control just before 5:25 A.M.. There were no injuries to fire personnel or civilians.
