Incident Narrative

METTLER, Calif, Monday, the Kern County Emergency Communications Center was notified by CHP of a downed aircraft in an almond orchard. Upon arrival, Kern County firefighters investigated and found the pilot of the downed single engine aircraft had exited the plane unassisted and was not requesting treatment. Appropriate notifications to the FAA and NTSB were made and Kern County Environmental Health was notified due to fuel and pesticide spills.

 

All further inquiries related to spilled liquids on scene can be directed to KC Environmental Health. Requests for information related to the downed aircraft should be directed to the FAA or NTSB.
