Incident Narrative
Bodfish, Calif. — The Kern County Fire Department responded to a reported vehicle fire in a backyard in the Bodfish area near Lake Isabella at approximately 2:18 p.m.
Fire personnel arrived on scene at 2:23 p.m. and began suppression efforts. Due to strong winds and dry vegetation, the fire spread into nearby brush and moved uphill. Crews worked quickly to contain the fire, limiting its spread to approximately 6 acres.
An evacuation warning was issued for Zone 735-A as a precaution. That warning has since been lifted.
No injuries were reported. No structures were lost, with damage limited to the initial mobile home involved in the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
