Incident Narrative
Bakersfield, CA., Wednesday at approximately 11:51 A.M., The Kern County Fire Department responded to a vegetation fire, east of Mohawk St and South of Burr St. Upon arrival, approximately 1/2 an acre of grass was burning at a moderate rate of spread. Crews started hose lays off of both the engine and patrol in attempt to flank the fire. One additional patrol and a water tender were requested. Forward progress was stopped at approximately 12:17 P.M. due to the fast actions of the units on scene. A total of 2.7 acres burned.
The Kern County Fire Department would like to remind everyone of the defensible space requirements and to please use extreme caution while using open flames.
