RIDGECREST, Calif., Wednesday morning, Kern County firefighters were dispatched to reports of a residential home on fire. Upon arrival, firefighters found a home approximately 1,500 sq ft in size with smoke visible from the roof. Firefighters made entry to search for occupants inside and locate the seat of the fire. The fire was located in the attic so ventilation was performed in coordination with the interior fire attack. Firefighters also assisted the home owner with removal of several pets and valuables during the course of the incident. The fire was quickly contained and firefighters remained on scene to assist with salvage and overhaul.
