Incident Narrative

Just after 8:00am this morning, the Kern County Fire Department received multiple calls for a structure on fire. As crews were responding, they could see smoke showing from a distance. The first engine company arrived on scene to a mobile home with smoke and flames coming out of several windows and the three mobile homes nearby at risk of catching fire. With the quick action of firefighters, from the Arvin fire station, they were able to keep the fire from spreading to all four mobile homes greatly reducing the damage to three of the units. A second alarm response was started bringing additional engines from east Bakersfield and Keene to the incident to help extinguish the fire and perform searches of all the structures exposed to the fire to assure there are no people still inside or need help to be removed from danger. Red Cross was called to assist with one family that was displaced as a result of the fire. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters as a result of this fire. Arson investigators were called to the scene and the cause in under investigation.
