At approximately 6:00 p.m. on January 17th, the Kern County Fire Department received a call for a reported structure fire in the 1700 block of Cecil Avenue. Upon arrival crews found a working fire in the kitchen area. The fire was knocked down within minutes using an aggressive interior attack while other crews searched for victims and established a water supply from a nearby hydrant. Extensive overhaul in the room of origin kept crews busy for several hours more.
The Kern County Fire Department reminds our customers to “Close The Door.” When evacuating a burning building, close doors behind you to limit fire growth.
