Lebec, CA

At approximately 1:30 PM the Kern County Fire Department received multiple calls for a Wildland fire on Lebec Road between Lebec Oaks Road and Clear Canyon Road. First arriving units aggressively attacked the fire and received assistance from four helicopters and four fixed wing aircraft dropping water and retardant. Bulldozers and hand-crews are on scene cutting a fire break around the fire.

Total area burned at this time is 62 acres with 85% containment, full containment is expected sometime Monday morning. 

The Kern County Fire Department would like to remind residents living in high fire hazard areas to make sure they maintain the defensible space around their homes.
