East Bakersfield, CA
Just after 1:30 PM, the Kern County Fire Department received a call for a structure fire in the 1300 block of Tate Street. When firefighters arrived, they encountered a fully involved detached garage to the rear of the property. The fire was threatening the adjacent house and a neighboring home. The response was upgraded to a 2nd Alarm. Firefighters were able to knock down the flames of the garage in 15 minutes and incoming 2nd Alarm resources were cancelled. The fire destroyed the garage and a vehicle inside of the garage, causing an estimated $40,000 in damage. KCFD Fire Investigators responded to investigate the fire. The home is vacant and there were no injuries.
