Shafter, CA
At approximately 8:04 a.m. firefighters from the Kern County Fire Department were dispatched to the historic “Train Depot,” for reports of smoke coming from the roof. Upon arrival firefighters confirmed the building had no individuals requiring a rescue and began their search for the seat of the fire, located in the attic. The work involved in extinguishing an attic fire is very labor intensive and time consuming. Firefighters worked to minimize any damage to the property while quickly and completely extinguishing the fire. There were no injuries reported to civilians or fire personnel.
