Red Rock, CA

The Kern County Fire Department received a call for a fall from a horse. First arriving crews met a companion rider stating the rider was uninjured but the horse had fallen into a ravine and was unable to free itself.

Firefighters and Park Rangers hiked ¾ of a mile to the location of the horse. Using ropes and manpower the horse was freed and was able to walk to a safe location. The owner stated the horse had some minor injuries but was able to walk back to the campsite.
