On 3/30/19 at approximately 16:50 hours, a reinforced  structure fire including 4 Engines, a Truck and two BC's was dispatched to the 700 block of Madera Street in Maricopa, CA. Upon arrival, fire crews encountered a single story, single family dwelling  approximately 1,200 square feet in size with a fire on the exterior wall of the structure. The first arriving  engine was able to make a knock down of the fire within the first few minutes. Crews entered the structure and began searching for occupants, but the house was unoccupied.  After pulling ceiling, fire crews were able to determine the fire had not extended into the attic of the home. The fire was brought under control in less than 10 minutes.

A fan was utilized to blow the hot smoke and gases out of the structure. Salvage covers were utilized during the overhaul process to protect the belongings of the occupants. A thermal imaging camera was used in the search for potential occupants and to uncover any hidden fire in the attic space.

Neighbors played a part in keeping this fire from becoming larger by the quick use of the 911 system and by using garden hoses prior to the Fire Department’s arrival. No one was home at the time of  incident. The fire cause is under investigation.
