KCFD Opens its 49th Station

KERN COUNTY, Calif. | Thursday, the Kern County Fire Department officially celebrated the grand opening of its newest fire station during a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the completion of a years-long collaborative effort focused on enhancing public safety in Kern County.

The new station officially went into service on May 1 at 8:00 a.m. and is staffed daily by a Fire Captain, Fire Engineer, and two Firefighters. Strategically located near the Hard Rock Casino, the station will improve emergency response capabilities for the area while strengthening overall countywide public safety coverage.

This project is unique in that the fire station was constructed without the use of tax dollars through a partnership between the Kern County Fire Department, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, and the Tejon Indian Tribe.

In addition to housing Kern County firefighters, the public safety complex will also serve as a Kern County Sheriff’s Office substation, further strengthening coordinated emergency services and law enforcement presence in the region.
