KERN COUNTY, Calif. | The Kern County Fire Department is pleased to announce that open burning of hazard reduction fuels will begin on Wednesday, November 26th, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. We are actively monitoring fuel moisture and weather conditions. If necessary for public safety, burning may be put on a temporary hold. Residents should stay alert for updates.
All individuals planning to burn must obtain a burn permit, burn only on permissive days, and adhere to all rules and recommendations outlined in the burn permit terms and conditions. Individuals who choose to use this method of eliminating hazardous vegetation are responsible for always maintaining full control of their fire. Individuals may be held civilly and/or criminally liable if a fire escapes or damages neighboring property.
