KERN COUNTY, Calif., Today, Kern County firefighters were requested to assist with firefighting operations on the Mountain Fire, located in Ventura County. In a year in which our own county received such tremendous support during historic Kern County fires, it is a privilege to now assist neighbors in need. The following KCFD resources have been deployed:

1 – “Charlie” Strike Team, consisting of 5 off-road capable Fire Engines and 22 Firefighters.

1 – “Hand Crew” Strike Team, consisting of 2, 23-person hand crews, totaling 46 Firefighters.

1 – “Lima” Strike Team, consisting of 2 Dozers, 2 Dozer Tenders, and 7 Firefighters.

1 – “Bravo” Strike Team, consisting of 5 metro Fire Engines and 22 Firefighters.

While these 97 Kern County firefighters respond to assist neighboring communities, off-duty KCFD firefighters are answering the call to return to work, ensuring Kern County remains safe.
