INYOKERN, Calif., On Wednesday afternoon, a new fire engine was delivered to Kern County Fire Station 83. A mighty tool box on wheels, boasting a 500 horsepower motor and a 1500 gallon per minute water pump, the new Pierce Enforcer rolled into Inyokern to its new home.
For the third time in the last nine months, District 1 Supervisor Phillip Peters carved out time from his busy schedule to attend an engine delivery ceremony in his district.
We are excited to provide this impressive new equipment for our firefighters to use as they protect Inyokern and the surrounding areas.
Known for their meticulous care of the station and equipment, the crews at 83 will be excellent caretakers of the engine for years to come.
