The Kern County Fire Department Hosts Flood Hotline & Website Information

May 22, 2023

Kern County, CA

As Kern County is in the planning stages of potential flood events in and around our communities, the Kern County Fire Department wants to ensure that our citizens have access to all preparedness information that is available to them. We have developed multiple ways for the public to gather this pre-planning information.

For information on flood maps, flood dashboards with inflow and outflow levels, and flood preparedness, go to kerncounty.com.

If you would like to subscribe to updates and news from the Kern County Fire Department, go to kerncountyfire.org and click on subscribe in the top right-hand corner of the page.

To sign up for emergency notifications, specific to the area you live in, go to ReadyKern.com.

If you cannot find the information you are looking for on these websites, our Emergency Operations Center has also opened our Flood Hotline at (661) 873-2660. This line will be available Monday through Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm by in-person call-takers. On this line, you will get answers to general flood information questions and assistance to find which agency has the information inquired about.

Remember, being prepared for an emergency is important. Whether it be a flood, a fire, an earthquake, or any natural disaster, take this opportunity to get yourself and your family prepared. For more information on the ways you can prepare, go to kerncountyfire.org.
