Bakersfield, CA., This last week The Kern County Fire Department’s Live Fire Cadre had the fortunate opportunity to teach the next generation of Firefighters in Bakersfield College’s Fire Academy. The Live Fire Cadre is made up of full time, professional firefighters from the Kern County Fire Department. The cadre spent the night teaching the science behind fire behavior. Students were able to put the skills they have learned to the test by putting water on real fires, vertically ventilating a building with fire below, and sitting inside a sea train watching the different phases of fire develop. The Kern County Fire Department’s Live Fire Cadre takes great pride in being able to teach the next generations of the fire service. Congratulations to all the graduates of Bakersfield College’s Fire Academy!
