BAKERSFIELD, Calif., The following message is being issued regarding a road closure made by the Kern County Public Works Department.
A portion of roadway has been identified as unsafe to travel due to road undermining from a slope failure.
The following road closure is now in effect:
Round Mountain Rd, 4 miles east of China Grade Loop between Rio Mesa Dr and Rio Frio Dr.
Please avoid the section of closed roadway and never attempt to go around road closure barriers.
Access in and out of areas east of the closure can be made through S Granite Rd. All are encouraged to plan accordingly for the additional time the detour will add to their commute.
