On Monday, October 3, 2022, the Kern County Fire Department began the 22-4 Recruit Academy. In the months since, each recruit has been trained in all disciplines of a modern “All Risk” fire department. This week the recruits have completed the final testing phase of the academy and all 27 will graduate this Friday. A “Family Night” will be held this Thursday, providing their family members an opportunity to observe the recruits’ last training exercises in the academy.
We are proud of their accomplishments and of the dozens of fire personnel who assisted with their training during the academy.
