C.E.R.T. Rodeo Day

The Kern County Fire Department is proud to announce our inaugural CERT Rodeo Day! The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program is a nationally supported, locally implemented initiative that teaches people how to better prepare themselves for hazards that may affect their communities.

This Saturday, October 15, 2022, the Kern County Fire Department will host CERT members from all over the county in exhibiting the knowledge, skills, and abilities of basic disaster response skills. The event will take place at KCFD Olive Drive Fire Training Facility, 5642 Victor St. from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Since 1993, CERT has been training public volunteers in skills such as disaster medical operations, fire safety, team organization and light search and rescue. The ability for CERT volunteers to perform these activities frees up professional responders to focus their efforts on more complex, essential, and critical tasks.

For more information on this event, contact our Public Information Office at fireinfo@kerncountyfire.org or (661) 330-0133.
