For two days, May 16th & 17th, chiefs from the Kern County Fire Department will be training to be even more operationally effective.
The first half of day one focuses on strengthening relationships and coordination between our partner agencies. Partner agencies in attendance include: Cal Fire, Bakersfield City Fire Department, Sequioa National Forest, Los Padres National Forest, Bureau of Land Management, and California City Fire Department.
Some of the topics to be discussed during the two days of training will include: personnel & staffing, communications, ongoing and projected fuels reduction projects, and firefighter safety.
As fire personnel continue to prepare for a busy year, we encourage all in our community to do what they can personally to prepare. Create defensible space, sign up for emergency notifications, and build evacuation plans & go-bags for your needs.
