At approximately 8:00 p.m. last night, the Kern County Fire Department received calls for a structure fire in the 2200 block of Henson Street in Lake Isabella.  Initial reports stated that a 10 year old child was possibly inside a double wide mobile home that was on fire.  The first arriving units encountered a  double wide mobile home fully on fire. It was quickly determined that the reported child was not inside the mobile home.  Crews aggressively attacked the fire keeping it contained to the house of origin, protecting a garage and another nearby mobile home. The mobile home was a complete loss, but no other structures were affected   There were no injuries to fire personnel or civilians. The fire crews were able to save a dog that lived at the house. The cause and cost of damage is unknown.

The Kern County Fire Department would like to remind you to check your smoke detectors regularly and replace the batteries every six months.
