Bakersfield, CA

Bakersfield, California, 3:33 PM, the Kern County Fire Department received a 911 call reporting a barn on fire. The reporting party stated that the fire was spreading to nearby grass. A full vegetation response was initiated. First arriving crews found a completely involved barn fire and a vegetation fire spreading at a moderate speed. Aggressive use of air resources, to provide water and retardant drops, provided ground crews with the support needed to quickly stop the fire’s forward progress. Fire personnel will be on scene through the night to mop up hot spots and strengthen containment lines.
