At 2:47 p.m. this afternoon, the Kern County Fire Department received a call for a structure fire located at the 1300 block of Locust Ravine in Bakersfield, CA. Upon arrival, fire crews found a single story residence with light smoke showing from the attic. Crews made entry and located a smoldering electrical fire using a thermal imaging camera. The crews were able to protect the residents property using tarp covers and extinguishing the fire using a water-can extinguisher. All occupants had excited the structure prior to fire department arrival. The apparent cause of the fire was due to old electrical wiring. Five people were displaced by the fire.
