At approximately 13:33 p.m. the Kern County Fire Department received reports of a structure on fire and threatening an additional structure. A reinforced structure response was dispatched. First arriving crews reported a house fully involved in fire with a detached living quarters and garage threatened. Occupants of the property escaped the fire but reported they were unable to rescue one dog. Fire crews attacked the main fire and pulled lines for protection of the exposures. Downed power lines between the main structure and the exposures added complications for fire firefighters. Primary and secondary searches were cleared. Fast decisions and actions by fire fighters contained the fire to the main structure saving the exposures.
