Bodfish, CA
At approximately 3:58 p.m., Kern County Fire Department received a call for a structure fire at the 600 block of Lacewood Court. Fire crews arrived on scene to find a fully involved mobile home with exposures to the vegetation and nearby homes. Crews immediately started exposure protection to the homes and started a 1st alarm Interagency Vegetation response due to high winds pushing the fire up the mountain. This immediately put this into a Unified Command with Kern County Fire Department, US Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management. Approximately 100 firefighters are battling this blaze and 50 acres plus has burned with 10% containment. Multiple helicopters and air tankers dropped major amounts of water and retardant on the fire to help protect the threatened homes. Fire is under investigation.
