At 10:17 a.m. Kern County Fire Station 22 received a walk-in report of a structure fire.   A reinforced alarm was dispatched.  Engine 22 was on scene within four minutes and reported that a single-wide mobile home was 50% involved.  Firefighters attacked the fire and searched the burning residence for potential victims inside.  Nobody was home at the time of the fire.  Firefighters were able to save nearby structures, however the involved structure sustained heavy fire and smoke damage.

Fire Investigators determined that the origin of the fire was in the kitchen and likely caused  by unattended cooking.  There were no injuries to firefighters.
