DELANO- CA, On     Thursday July 22nd 2010, at approximately 6:25 A.M., the Kern County Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 2900 block of West Cecil in Delano. Approximately 16 firefighters fought this fire including assistance from North Kern State Prison Fire Dept.

Upon arrival crews were faced with a doublewide mobile home 75% involved with fire, an attack was commenced on the fire; simultaneously firefighters were able to ascertain that there were no occupants at home.

Crews had a rapid knock down of the fire but remained on scene for overhaul and to ensure that the fire was completely extinguished. The fire destroyed the home with an estimated loss of $50,000.00

There were no reported injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
